The Prison Book Program first became connected
with United First Parish Church in 2004. The Congregation had been
working on the UUA Study Action on Prison Reform and had attended
sermons/workshops presented by our affiliate minister, Reverend
Margie King-Saphier on the topic.
When
Prison Book program needed a home - we were ready. It has been a wonderful
partnership ever since. We are proud of the work the Prison Book Program
does and support their mission to bring books to the incarcerated.
The Prison Book Program Dictionary Drive is
still going!
Dictionaries fly off their shelves as fast as
people donate them. We can't keep up with the demand. So we are asking you to
support our "Online Dictionary Drive." Purchased wholesale in a lot
of 1000, a college-level version is just $2.74 (45% off retail price). We are
aiming to buy 1000.
They’ve purchased 377 - only 633 left to go. Make a
donation today!
